Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist in the Ridgefield, CT area.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) supporting Research based Scientists in the request, documentation and preparation research related shipments leaving Ridgefield CT.
Will schedule, organize and/or attend weekly meetings with shipping counterpart in Germany and respective Contract Research Organizations.
Coordinate with Ridgefield logistics and shipping department and ensure accuracy in shipping documentation and packaged samples
Confirm shipment and notify requesting Scientist, Contract Research Organization and counterpart in Germany
Act as the (Company Regulatory Documents System) BIRDS Local Business Area Coordinator (LBAC) for the Research Organization
Act as first point of contact to support training and business issues related to BIRDS
Serve as process owner to provide detailed guidance for authors in order to successfully archive Non-Clinical Technical reports
Correct report formatting as needed to ensure adherence to policy
Coordinate this process with authors, reviewers, approvers and the DRA Group to move the reports through the various stages, final signing and archiving
Inform the group of new developments in BIRDS, current updates and relevant information
Work closely with the DRA Manager of the EU Regional Archiving Center to discuss and develop workarounds and best practices for the archiving process
Communicate with other Key Users and LBACs to exchange pertinent information for the new BIRDS system role out
Elevate unsolvable problems to the next business level GBAs (Global Business Administrator) and the Business Support Team as necessary
Execute other operational tasks as needed including purchase order requisition generation, reports related to department spend and other routine department tasks
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once, drive execution and meet critical deadlines
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to train
Extremely proficient with MS Office products Strong computer skills, including SharePoint and database tools
Ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures
Familiar with Shipping and Packaging in a Pharmaceutical Research environment
Experienced with and comfortable handling and packaging research materials including but not limited to chemicals, reagents and human/animal derived tissue and specimens
