Our client is tasked in supporting and maturing the Army's next generation combat vehicles.
- This position will support design, development, integration and testing of high power inverters/converters and controllers used in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) propulsion for combat vehicles.
- Applies knowledge of multiple engineering principles and disciplines, including customer understanding as well as in-depth knowledge of assigned product or technology area in guiding and reviewing project direction and outcomes.
- Maintains state-of-the-art familiarity with industry practices, trends, and applications to enhance the organization's technical capabilities.
- Conceptualizes, creates, and analyzes designs to ensure technical outcomes are consistent with customer and company requirements.
- Experience using lab test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, CAN bus diagnostics tools, data acquisition such as LabVIEW for test and verification, is desired.
- Experience with electrical schematic captures and simulation tools like SPICE is required.
- Familiarity with DC and AC military specification or commercial power standards and testing requirements is also desirable.
- The integrated product team (IPT) environment of this project requires excellent teamwork skills, technical writing skills, and oral communication skills.
- must be willing to work in a lab environment with high voltage and high current components.
- must have the ability to access and move about a large military vehicle during integration and test activities.

Skills
- This position will support design, development, integration and testing of high power inverters/converters and controllers used in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) propulsion for combat vehicles.
- should have working experience of modern semiconductor power switching devices and isolated gate drivers, DC-DC converter and DC-AC inverter design topologies.
- High-power experience at power levels greater than 100kW and voltages greater than 500V is desired. Proficiency with magnetics design.
- Familiarity with DC and AC military specification or commercial power standards and testing requirements is also desirable.
- The integrated product team (IPT) environment of this effort requires solid team working skills plus good oral and written communication skills.
- Has a working knowledge of electrical power systems concepts to describe designs at the component, module and sub-system levels with the ability to generate suitable design drawings and schematics.
- Experienced in product design from concept to first article pre- production prototypes.
- Has the ability to generate power converter requirements and specifications. Working knowledge of electrical CAE/ CAD tools.
- Requires proficiency with modern electronic design software including PSPICE, Simulink, and Visio.
Experience
Minimum seven (7) year's experience with BS. Five (5) years' experience with MS.
Education
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
