Team Overview:

The Risk Technology group is responsible for design and development for the Global Risk reporting. This team is focused on processing and storing Historical Market Data. This data is used for PnL generation and VaR (Value at Risk) computations and is also utilized by other downstream systems, that work with risk. It is a global team of developers, specializing in different technologies, such as Java, Python, C#, Machine Learning and database.

 

Role / Principal Accountabilities:

Design, Development and Support of various modules and components of the Historical Market Data (HMD) which stores historical time series data for FICC and Equities.

Articulate technical design & solutions to non-technical business users. Ownership of project work during different phases SDLC: initiation, development, unit testing to QA, UAT, staging and production. Profiling of the current application, new changes and identification of areas of performance improvement and memory optimization will be imperative to make this role successful. Writing Unit test cases (JUnit) and documenting the technical design and other operational procedures will be needed as well.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 6-8 years of experience as a core Java developer.
• In depth knowledge of concurrency / multi-threading.
• Experience with Spring Framework, particularly, spring core, spring jdbc, spring boot.
• Experienced with version control (GIT, SVN, etc.) and build tools (Maven, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experienced in writing SQL queries, functions and stored procedures.
• Knowledge of application performance and monitoring using profiling tools.
• Knowledge of effective memory management and garbage collection of Java applications
• Able to troubleshoot problems in multiple environments.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work towards tight deadlines.

 

Preferred Skills

• Experience in financial industry.
• Distributed systems, handling & processing of large data in large scale.
• Experience within memory cache in-house built or vendor-based products.
• Experience with Oracle database.
• Experienced with Machine Learning
• Experienced with cloud services such as AWS.
• Experienced with Big Data solutions (MapR etc.)
• Experienced with microservices.
